News from Religion, Cognition and Culture - October 8, 2006

Dear research network colleagues,

This is just a brief up-date on some interesting events.

  1. A number of us will be meeting in Belfast at the Institute of Cognition and Culture to attend a symposium on "Evolution of Religion", Monday, October 30, 2006. The seminar will be a kind of warm up conference for the upcoming Hawaii conference (to which I will return). Check out the website.
  2. As you all know, Joseph Bulbulia is at our Department this semester. We are planning on hosting a seminar in Aarhus with Joseph as keynote speaker either towards the end of November or early December. A more precise date will follow as soon as possible, and we hope to see all our friends and colleagues who happen to be in the Aarhus area. See our website on principal staff where you will find information on Joseph.
  3. Don't miss the Hawaii conference on "Evolution of Religion", January 3-10, 2007. A lot of colleagues in the cognitive science of religion will be there, and it should prove to be a very interesting event. Check out the website and try to meet us there.
  4. Don't forget to register for our conference on "Symbolization in Religion, Cognition and Culture", May 31 - June 2, 2007. We are pleased to announce that Bradd Shore and Terrence Deacon will be keynote speakers. Please see our website with the call for papers.
  5. Our colleagues at the Department of Psychology, University of Aarhus will be hosting a large-scale conference on "Human Mind - Human Kind", August 15-18, 2007. For additional information please visit the website.
  6. Check out the Equinox Publishers website in London where our new book series now being announced.

More information on the activities of the research project will be shortly forthcoming.

We hope to see you soon!
